Came up across this https://itch.io/suggest-a-tool

I think it could bring a little value to engine recognition

Not sure if I can do it on behalf of CGE, but I could take everything from itch page of CGE to add it to itch tools DB, and then I will use it to fill in corresponding field of the game

It would indeed be cool to be listed in Top Game Engines - itch.io and be selectable for “Things you’ve used to build your project” in games on itch.io .

I admittedly have already submitted the form on https://itch.io/suggest-a-tool some time ago, and pinged them (through support@itch.io email) about it – unfortunately I didn’t get any answer from itch.io .

Looking at my notes, I submitted it around August 30, 2024 and was pinging them around October 2024 in thread “Castle Game Engine submission to itch.io “Game Engines” list”.

I don’t have the contents I used for my submission though (apparently I didn’t save them anywhere? or at least I can’t find it now). I only have my “pinging” email, which points to what I wanted to emphasize,

Some time ago (I think on August 30th) I submitted a new tool (game engine) for itch.io database, using https://itch.io/suggest-a-tool . The game engine is Castle Game Engine, an open source cross-platform 3D and 2D game engine with a visual editor and modern Object Pascal API ( https://castle-engine.io/ , also on itch.io: Castle Game Engine by Castle Game Engine ).

So far, I haven’t heard from you, and I think our game engine is not added to the database. It is not listed on Top Game Engines - itch.io , I cannot select it as “Things you’ve used to build your project” in my games.

I know things take time  Is there anything I can do to help you? Is any information about Castle Game Engine unclear? I’m the project’s lead, I can explain / showcase the engine  Let me know if you have any questions about the engine.

If you want to pursue this, to submit the engine to itch.io, you’re absolutely welcome and I’m grateful!

I shall also eventually retry this, maybe they’ll be more responsive in 2026  Something to do after 7.0-alpha.4 release (unless you will succeed sooner! ).
